Feeding Futures

July 2022
Whitworth Art Gallery

Feeding Futures was a public event, which explored some of the complicated attitudes towards the ways that we feed our babies, particularly when in public.

The day included talks, workshops and performances by cultural historian Dr Joanna Wolfarth, design researcher Sally Sutherland, performance artist Krissi Musiol and breastfeeding councillor and doula Louise Oliver, whilst artist Sarah Marsh provided sensory activities for babies and toddlers. Participants were invited to share their own experiences and discuss how to create a more supportive and positive culture around this essential act of care.
